Cheryl Hiraoka (Lead Assistant) graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder as a voice major in Music Education. This is her third year in Morning Glory. She taught music for several years in Jefferson County and directed a vocal ensemble at the Arvada Center. Raised in Hungary she has lived, studied and worked in Germany, Scotland and the United States. She has a BA in Social Work with an emphasis on people with disabilities which she completed in Germany, writing her thesis about Anthroposophy and Camphill communities. She worked for 4 years in Camphill communities in Germany and Scotland and as Lead Assistant at Parzival Shield Waldorf Kindergarten in Denver for 1 and a half years. She has been working at DWS for 9 years first as a substitute and nap assistant, later as the Lead Assistant in the Woodrose Kindergarten and is currently enrolled in the Waldorf Teacher Training Program at the Rudolf Steiner College.
