Complete the online application forms and submit the $75 non-refundable application fee by March 1. Applications received after this date will be considered on a space available basis. Please click on the Apply Now button below to apply; paper applications available by request.
3. STUDENT VISITATION
We require that applying students visit their prospective class for one to three days. The student visit is scheduled only after the parents/guardians have made the initial visit and we have received the completed applications, teacher recommendation forms, and copy of the school records. After receiving your application, the Director of Student Services will contact the parents/guardians to schedule a date and time for your student to visit the school. The teachers will observe how your student interacts with the class. Your student will get to experience how our teachers work with their students, and get to know the other students enrolled in the class.
4. STUDENT AND PARENT/GUARDIAN INTERVIEW
Following the student visit, the Director of Student Services will schedule an interview with the student and parents/guardians to discuss parent and school expectations, and determine if Waldorf education is the best fit for the student. During the interview, we will ask the student to complete a math and writing assessment. The student should come to the interview with a portfolio he or she has complied with examples of academic and artistic work. Please see Portfolio Guidelines below. Following the interview, the faculty and staff will meet to determine student acceptance and the parents/guardians will be notified by phone and mail.
The student should compile a portfolio with examples of academic and artistic work. The portfolio needs to be photocopied and attractively bound, with a title page and table of contents including class title, grade level, teacher’s name and assignment. All work in color should be color-copied.
The portfolio needs to contain examples of work as follows:
~ At least two English assignments;
~ Recent math assignments;
~ Social studies composition;
~ Science observation or lab write-up;
~ World language (if applicable);
~ Artistic piece (e.g. painting, poem, creative writing, photograph of sculpture or pottery, CD or DVD of musical or dramatic performance);
~ At least one illustration;
~ Any other work you wish to include.
5. UPON STUDENT ACCEPTANCE
Once a student’s family has been notified of their acceptance, we will send out the Admissions Packet, which includes the Tuition and Enrollment Contract, Registration Fee Invoice, school year Calendar and SMART Tuition Management Forms. For families needing to apply for Tuition Adjustment, these forms will be included in the Admissions Packet as well.
