We require that applying students visit their prospective class for one to three days. The student visit is scheduled only after the parents/guardians have made the initial visit and we have received the completed applications, teacher recommendation forms, and copy of the school records. After receiving your application, the Class Teacher will contact the parents/guardians to schedule a date and time for your students to visit the school. The teachers will observe how your student interacts with the class. Your student will get to experience how our teachers work with their students, and get to know the other students enrolled in the class.
4. STUDENT AND PARENT/GUARDIAN INTERVIEW
Following the student visit, the Director of Student Services will schedule an interview with the student and parents/guardians to discuss parent and school expectations, and determine if Waldorf education is the best fit for the student. During the interview, we will ask the student to complete a math and writing assessment. The student should come to the interview with a portfolio he or she has complied with examples of academic and artistic work. Please see Portfolio Guidelines below. Following the interview, the faculty and staff will meet to determine student acceptance and the parents/guardians will be notified by phone and mail.
Once a student’s family has been notified of their acceptance, we will send out the Admissions Packet, which includes the Tuition and Enrollment Contract, Registration Fee Invoice, Business Policies, School Year Calendar, SMART Tuition Management Forms, and a list of any items the student will need to bring for the first day of school. For families needing to apply for Tuition Adjustment, these forms will be included in the Admissions Packet as well.
