Preschool Kindergarten Admissions Process

1. SCHEDULE A PARENT/GUARDIAN VISIT

Our Visitors Mornings are offered monthly, September through May – click below for a complete schedule of DWS Visitors Mornings. Please call our Enrollment Coordinator 303-777-0531 ext. 106, to schedule your appointment. Visits by both parents/guardians are a required part of the application process. If you are unable to attend a regularly scheduled Visitor Morning, you may contact our Enrollment Coordinator to arrange a personal tour.

We also encourage parents/guardians to attend one of our regularly scheduled Wisdom of Waldorf Curriculum Evenings for a presentation on how the Waldorf Preschool and Kindergarten program lays the foundation for the grades and beyond. Click below for the complete schedule of WOW Evenings.

Once you have attended a Visitors Morning and/or a Wisdom of Waldorf evening, you and your child are invited to experience the awe-inspiring world of the Waldorf Preschool and Kindergarten – click below for upcoming Kindergarten Experiential Mornings.

2. SUBMIT AN APPLICATION

Submit the completed Application Form, and $50 non-refundable application fee, by January 1. Applications received after this date will be considered on a space available basis. Interviews for the upcoming school year begin in February. In order to maintain a healthy class dynamic, we may need to give consideration to the gender or age of a child to fill a class opening. While we do not consider students on a first come basis, applying early in the year does increase the likelihood of your application being considered – the best time to apply is August through November. We give priority admission to siblings of already enrolled children and to children transferring from other Waldorf schools.

3. STUDENT AND PARENT/GUARDIAN INTERVIEW

In late January the Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher will schedule an interview with the student and parents/guardians to discuss family and school expectations, and determine if Waldorf education is the best fit for the student. Following the interview, the faculty and staff will meet to determine student acceptance and parents/guardians will be notified by phone and mail.

4. UPON STUDENT ACCEPTANCE

Once a student’s family has been notified of their acceptance, we will send out the Admissions Packet, which includes the Tuition and Enrollment Contract, Registration Fee Invoice, Business Policies, School Year Calendar, SMART Tuition Management Forms, and a list of any items the student will need to bring for the first day of school.
