This year’s Auction Committee is committed to delivering on this year’s theme: “Magic Happens”. The Spring Auction has become a highly anticipated and well-deserved evening out for the DWS extended family and this year we can expect a beautiful, delicious, entertaining evening for our community to come together and celebrate (and support) Waldorf education.
Food and entertainment are included in the gala event with cocktails available for purchase from a fully stocked bar. Live music will be provided by The School Boys and hundreds of donated items will be available for purchase through both a Silent and Live Auction.
This year’s event will be on March 20, 2010, at the lovely Sherman Street Event Center located at 1770 Sherman Street. Festivities begin at 6pm! Click here for information about the venue and here for directions.

For the 2009-2010 Spring Auction we are suggesting that each Waldorf family be responsible for procuring at least THREE (3) items. Here are some tips to help you get started.
Step 1. Arm yourself with an Auction Procurement form. You can download a Procurement Form by clicking here.
Step 2. Think of something to donate. If you desire, you can donate a service you yourself provide like hosting a gourmet brunch. More likely, think about whom you know. Are there quaint little shops you frequent, where the owner knows you? Does your child take lessons of some musical, athletic or artistic nature? Do you have a favorite eatery? People that owe you a favor are great to ask, but don’t stop there. Ask your friends, relatives, and acquaintances who own a shop or provide services. Have an Auction Donation form handy and give it to them, or fill it out with them right then and there. If you don’t know anyone, arm yourself with many copies of the Auction letter and donation form, and simply walk into neat stores. Ask to speak to the owner or manager. Tell them how much your family loves The Denver Waldorf School. Tell them how wonderful their store is. Tell them that if you could have a store, it would be just like theirs. Ask if they ever make donations to charitable auctions. Leave the forms for the relevant person. Grab a business card, noting the proprietor and the person you talked to. Follow-up a few days later with a phone call.
Step 3. Drop the completed Auction Donation Form in the slot in the Parent Kiosk or with Christa in the Main Office.
Step 4. Purchase your Auction tickets today so you can celebrate this fabulous event with our community!

Now you can give the gift of magic by donating to the Tickets for Teachers fund. Our teachers work hard; show them how much we appreciate all they do for our children by contributing to this fund that provides complimentary or reduced-priced Auction tickets to DWS teachers.
